Obituary of Dennis Maurice Taylor

Dennis Maurice Taylor was born to the late Rayfield Leon Taylor, Sr. and Annie Eliza Taylor on April 8, 1948. He entered into eternal rest on July 11, 2019.

Dennis received his early education in the Delaware public school system (Stubbs, Bancroft) and graduated from Howard High School in 1966. At Howard he was a member of the National Honor Society, Treasurer of the Student Council, the Great Books Club and was Valedictorian for the Class of 66’.

Dennis served in the United States Army (67-73) and received an honorable discharge. Previous employers Continental Can, Wiltex (after high school), General Motors and the U. S. Postal Service, he left in 1993 after 11 years of service.

Dennis enjoyed football and tennis (played in high school). He was an avid fan of basketball and golf. As a youngster he played little league baseball at 4th and Church (Christiana Park). Also enjoyed playing pool at the 11th Street pool hall (back in the day). He loved working on home improvement and electronic projects.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Rayfield Leon Taylor, Sr. Annie Eliza Taylor and siblings Leonard E. Taylor, Louis M. Taylor, Sharon J. Taylor, Joyce A. Taylor, Rayfield L. Taylor Jr., Calvin L. Taylor, Ronald Phillips, John Taylor, Larry V. Taylor and three infant sisters.

Dennis is survived by his wife Deborah L. Taylor of 39 years, his son Dennis Marvin Taylor (aka Dennis Jr); his siblings William E. Taylor, Sr. (Beatrice), Oliver C. Taylor, Sr. (Wanda), Mary E. Fields, Christine A. Taylor, Thelma L. Taylor, Dorothy J. Taylor-Thompson and Sarah M. Taylor-Williams. One grandson Daewann Maurice Stallings, special friend Bobbie Mikeal and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
