Raymond Harold

Obituary of Raymond Clyde Harold

RAYMOND CLYDE HAROLD was born on June 15, 1944, to the late Clyde Harold and the late Beatrice Riddicks. He was lovingly raised by the late Josephine Brown. Raymond departed this life to go to his Heavenly Father on May 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Raymond was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland and later moved to Salem, NJ. Raymond received his formal education in the Salem City school district, where he excelled in his studies and later graduated from Salem High School.

At an early age Raymond accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined St. Marks Pentecostal Church, Salem, NJ, under the leadership of Reverend Frank Richardson. Throughout the years, Raymond attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Salem, NJ and the WORD Church, Penns Grove, NJ. After moving to Delaware, Raymond attended SEEDS of Greatness Bible Church, New Castle, DE.

On August 28, 1971, Raymond married the love of his life and best friend, Georgiana Cline and together they have a beautifully blended family of 7 children and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Throughout his career, Raymond worked at various jobs. He worked for Chrysler Automotive Corporation for 18 years, where he was affectionately known as RC. He would later find his passion at Amtrak and after 32 years of faithful, committed service, he retired in 2018. Ray, as he was affectionately called at Amtrak, was “The Man” at 30th Street Station. He was well known by many celebrities and could brighten anyone’s day with his smile.

Raymond was always dressed to impress (from head to toe). He was known for his love of the Dallas Cowboys and was a die hard fan (win or lose)! He was also an avid bowler and traveled for many years to various bowling tournaments. One of his proudest moments was when he received a ring for a perfect score of 300. RC looked forward to getting his hair cut and visiting his good friend and mentor, Reverend Irvin Hinmon. Throughout his life he enjoyed traveling to Wildwood, Florida and North Carolina on family vacations. Creating memories with his wife, children and grandchildren was the highlight of his life.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was also predeceased by his grandfather Elliott Harold, grandmother Richetta Vines, his sister Dorethea Derico, and his grandson Ra’mir Harold.
