Obituary of James E. Chandler

James Edward Chandler, lovingly known as Jamie, was born on January 30, 1953 in Wilmington,
Delaware to Clarence and Louise Chandler. He passed away on April 5, 2019 in the Christiana Care
Hospital in Christiana, Delaware.

Jamie received his education within the Wilmington Public School System. After his education, he held
several positions with the Jewish Community Center, General Motors, and Dupont Experimental Station
for many years.

Jamie was a loving father, brother and friend. He had many hobbies and interests such as singing (his
favorite song was “Waiting on Jesus”) basketball, cooking, working on cars, fishing and spending time
with family.

Jamie was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Louise Chandler, 3 brothers: Larry, George and
Jeffrey Chandler and 2 sisters Ernestine Chandler and Jean Gray. He leaves to cherish is memories 2
sons: Oscar and James Winn, devoted sister and brother-in-law: Sharon and Clifton Briscoe, Devoted
caregiver/nephew: Larry Spencer Jr., caregiver/niece: Shameeka Ushery, 2 brothers: Kenneth Chandler
(Sharon), Robert Chandler (Rosetta), sisters: Barbara D. Chandler, Lorraine Nelson, Rosemary Brown
(Donald) Sheila Evans, sister-in-law: Andra Chandler, devoted friend: Marcia Harden and daughters
Volyncia Santiago, Tiffany, Juanita and LaCrisha Harden, 5 uncles, 3 aunts, grandchildren, a host of
nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
