Obituary of Peyton E. Spencer
The Journey of Peyton E. Spencer
God’s gift was born on June 1, 1957 in Wilmington, DE to Marion and Bernard Spencer. He passed peacefully surrounded by love ones on March 20, 2019 in Newark, De.
He was raised by his mother along with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He grew up in Wilmington, DE where he received most of his education. He ultimately graduated from the School of Hard Knocks. He was a Jack of all trades and a hustler by heart. He began his career at Pepsi April 12, 1991 retiring February 01, 2019. Peyton had a great testimony that he didn’t mind sharing, allowing him to aide in the life changes of many others. To have known him is to love him and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Peyton loved to do many things. Cracking jokes was his specialty and he had a smile that could light up a room. He had a knack for making people laugh. He had a passion for deep sea fishing with his friends, swimming, traveling, yard sales, making money, and spending time with his family but his grandchildren held his heart. Pey Pey or Pop Pop, as they affectionately called him, holds a special place in each one of their hearts.
Peyton was preceded in death by his father Bernard Spencer and his brother Avon Matthews.
Peyton is survived by his loving wife Kimberly, mother Marion Clifton, children Peyton, Lakeida, Candice, stepchildren Kerri, Danyetta, Ebony, DJ, 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 Godchild, siblings Eugene Matthews(Ann), Brian Matthews, Martin Spencer, Craig Spencer, Bernadette Spencer, Marion “Fee” Clifton, and a host of relatives and friends.
