Earle Ashby Jackson, Jr. was born on April 1, 1952 in Wilmington, Delaware to Earle Ashby Jackson Sr. and Barbara Jackson. Earle was the youngest of two children. At the tender age of three Earle lost his father to kidney disease and at the age of nine he lost his mother to heart disease.

After the passing of his beloved parents an arrangement was made for Earle to go live with his mother’s sister Julia Toliver Smith who was school teacher and his uncle Drurie Smith who was a waterman who lived in Churchton, Maryland. Both his uncle and his aunt wanted Earle to come live with them and raise him as their own.

Earle graduated from Southern High School in Harwood, Maryland in 1970. Earle was one of the first black members of the high school concert band playing clarinet and also wrestled on the high school team. During his time in high school he also took special interest in bonding with the closeness of local friends whom he would often host social events at his home for his friends to enjoy.

Earle attended Anne Arundel Community College and Bowie State University between 1970 to 1975. While attending Bowie State University he worked for Anne Arundel County as a zoning inspector for a short period of time.

In the early 1980s, Earle was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease and was sent to John Hopkins Hospital. He was hospitalized at John Hopkins for months and that is the start of his great love affair with his wife Desiree. The beginning of this love story where he met Desiree one evening as he was sitting in his pajamas in the hospital of John Hopkins lobby. And from that meeting they married the summer of 1985. Out of that union they raised two children Earle Ashby Jackson III and Reggie Norman Earle Jackson.

Earle’s career started in the insurance industry as a private investigator in the mid-80s. From that experience he went on to have a career with Maryland Auto Insurance Funds for the state of Maryland for 18 years.

Earle’s passion was his wife Desiree, two children, music, and sports. Also, Earle enjoyed his two boys dearly. Earle was very active coaching their baseball and basketball teams and occasionally refereed games. He would also transport the neighborhood children to practices and games as he was viewed as a father figure to them as well.
