Obituary of Darrell C. Gaylord

Darrell Courtney Gaylord, 60, of Greeneville Tennessee entered into eternal rest on Thursday,
November 29, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center.


Darrell, born December 19, 1957 in Elkton, MD was the son of the late Leaters D. Gaylord Jr. and
Lorraine Bernice Fitts.


Darrell, affectionately known as Gator, received his education from the Cecil County Public School
System. He excelled in sports receiving many trophies and awards. His high school years consisted of
remarkable accomplishments in basketball and football.


After leaving North East High School, Darrell attended college and worked several jobs as a laborer.
Darrell also enjoyed playing softball with several leagues, most note-ably, The Newark Connection,
where he made many life long friends. Darrell was an avid biker who found great pleasure riding his
Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his friends. He was a very outgoing and friendly person whose
friendships were cherished everywhere he resided including Tennessee, Delaware and Maryland.


Darrell is survived by his only child, Karrintan N. Webster. He is also survived by brothers Donald Griffin
(Fran) North Carolina, Lionel Gaylord, Rochester, NY, and Todd Gaylord of Wisconsin. Uncles, Conrad C.
Gaylord Sr. of North East, MD and Gene O. Gaylord (Dorothy) Port Deposit, MD. Aunts, Gloria White
Elkton, MD and Florence J. Marshall Mt. Holly, NJ. A special friend, Yvonne Hamilton of Greeneville, TN.
Nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends whom he adored.


Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jonathan A.Fitts, Leaters Gaylord III, Mark
Gaylord and Phillip Gaylord.
