Obituary of Rosie Lee Townsend

Rosie Lee Townsend was born on July 2, 1943 in Horntown, Virginia to David Joynes and Pearl Elizabeth Pitts. She enjoyed a vibrant life with her six children: Brenda Reid, Vanessa Williams, Curtis Townsend, Angela Wilson, Eunice Townsend, and Patricia Street. She also leaves her 13 grandchildren and her 18 great grandchildren who lovingly called her ‘Mom- Mom Rosie’.  Rosie Lee was preceded in death by both her parents.

Rosie Lee was employed as a Dietician with Milford Memorial Hospital for 25 years.  She retired from the hospital in 1999.  She started a second career at Walmart in New Castle, DE as a Greeter.  She worked there for 13 years before retiring for a second time in 2013.  

Rosie quietly and peacefully slept her way into her Heavenly Father’s presence on Thursday, November 22, 2018 (Thanksgiving Day).

Rosie Lee was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as her siblings, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
