Obituary of Austin E. Waters, Sr.

Austin E. Waters, Sr. son of the late Alfred and Loleta Waters was born on August 7, 1937 in Middletown, Delaware.  He departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Christiana Hospital. 

Austin received his education at Louis L. Redding School in Middletown, Delaware.  He joined the United States Army after leaving school.  He worked for DuPont Company and worked many years for Laborers, Local 199. 

Austin was a long term member of Trinity AME Church and in his later years, he was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.  He enjoyed going to Bible Study and spending time at the MOT Senior Center.

Austin was a councilman for the Town of Middletown for many years.  He was also a long time member for the Masons of Stone Square Lodge (22) and Eastern Stars. 

Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Loleta; brothers, Randolph, Clement and Mickey; sister, Violita Stevenson and son, Nathan Waters.

Austin is survived by his children, Theodore Waters, Chanel Waters (Gail), Adrian Waters (Leslie), Loleta Waters, Curtis Lloyd, Austin T. Waters, Everett Waters, and Connie Waters-Skinner (Joseph); his brother, Douglas Waters (Rose) and a special friend, Connie Locke.  Austin is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
