Obituary of Sharlene M. Brady

Sharlene Mayvette Brady affectionately known as “Babe” was born on November 6, 1961 in Wilmington, DE to the late Donald D. Brady and Grace M. Brady - Duker. She departed this life on Monday July 2, 2018 in Delaware City Delaware.

Babe received her education from the Delaware City Public School System. Upon completing her education Babe became employed by the University of Delaware which she retired from after 32 years of service as a Custodial Professional.

Babe’s hobbies in her younger years were playing basketball, tennis, and riding mini bikes. After the birth of her children she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking out, eating crabs, sipping, and teaching her nieces and nephews the real words of today’s world. Babe was known for speaking her mind and letting people know what it was and what it wasn’t going to be. She had a personality that was unforgettable. Babe was the life of every party, she was live entertainment at no cost. One of her favorite sayings was “Turtle Dead”. Babe was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Donald Brady and Grace Brady-Duker, step father James Duker, brother Thomas H. Parker, sister Carla L. Brady, step brother Gregory Duker, step sister Deborah Henson “Debbie”, grandfather Walter Smith, grandmother Lucey Parker, grandfather Sherman Brady, grandmother Elise Brady and her loving companion of 37 years Michael D. Garnett.

 She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters Tamikia R. Brady of Newcastle, DE, Nakesha I. Brady of Newark, DE; three grandchildren Keyonna Brady, Keshaan Collins, Keyahn Brady; four sisters Marlene Parker of Newcastle, DE, Donna Brady of Middletown, DE, Lisa Brady of Newark, DE, and Kimberly Brady of Wilmington, DE; two step sisters, Tracey Duker of Newark, DE, and Sherry Watson (Chris) of Townsend, DE; three aunts, Maxine Young of Middletown, DE, Patricia Moore of Newcastle, DE and Shelley Brady (Carl) of Townsend, DE; two uncles, Gaylord Brady of Middletown, DE and William Brady of Townsend, DE; one great uncle, Frankie Roberts (Alice) of Delaware City, DE; one devoted friend Rebecca Jones;and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
