Obituary of Booker T. Reed

Booker T. Reed, Sr. was born on March 17, 1940 in Townsend, DE. He was preceded in death by both his parents Susie Mae Bleen and Daniel Webster Reed. Booker went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2017.

Booker graduated from Louis L. Redding School of Middletown, DE. He began working at E.I. DuPont in December of 1962“Wearing Many Hats” before retiring in September of 1999. 

Booker was a lifelong member of Lee Haven U.M.C. participating in various minitries within the church namely,  trustee, choir member, usher and groundskeeper. He also was a senior member of St. John’s Lodge No. 7. Booker enjoyed playing baseball, listening to old hymns, watching westerns, taking walks, talking about many memories, but most importantly spending time with his family.   

Booker was preceded in death by his son, Booker T. Reed Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Pearl E. Reed. Daughters: Joycelyn Y. Johnson and Virginia A. Reed; Grandchildren: Anthony L. Johnson II and Shakira L. Reed; Great-grandson: Anthony L. Johnson III; Brothers: NormanReed, Carl Reed, Clifton Reed (Deceased); Sisters: PaulineEvans, Betty Reed and MariettaWilliams; Devoted Friend: Carl Ray and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins as well as friends.
