Obituary of Elzy M Russ

Elzy M. “Buddy” Russ was born on March 17, 1931 in Wilmington, Delaware to Eva Melbourne Russ and Elzy Russ.  He passed on Friday, October 27, 2017 at home.

Elzy “Buddy” received his early childhood education from Catholic and Wilmington Public Schools.  After school, he worked at Concors Supply Company, where he retired after 40 years.

Elzy “Buddy” was a faithful member of New Destiny Fellowship Church for over 30 years.  He had many hobbies and interest.  He loved baseball and ministering to people in the community.  He also had a great sense of humor.

Elzy “Buddy” was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Elzy Russ; 5 sisters Edith, Blanche, Esther, Helen and Betty; 4 brothers Eugene, Maurice, Alonzo and Leroy.

Elzy “Buddy” is survived by his children, son Anthony Randall; daughters Diane (Teddy) Torres, Kay (William) Swinney, Faye Russ, Tracy Russ and Renee (Earl) Tate; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
