Obituary of Terrell Charles Downs

~~Terrell Charles Downs, 14, the youngest of 5 siblings was born in New Jersey on February 13, 2003 and within days relocated to Delaware with his loving parents Claire and Charles Downs. He gained his angel wings on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at an unknown time in his home located in Wilmington, Delaware.

Terrell’s academic journey consisted of attending Highland Elementary, Alexis I. DuPont Middle School, and finally the Delaware Academy Of Public Safety and Security Charter High School, DAPSS. He was extremely thrilled to embark his high school and basketball career. Terrell was awarded a certificate for the Boys Basketball Team from Alexis I. DuPont Middle School during 2016-2017 academic school year.

Terrell’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Terrell was a young boy who had a deep passion for playing basketball, making people laugh, and living life to the fullest. He was fearless to an existent you would not imagine, but smart and very strong willed. If you knew Terrell, you knew that he loved playing video games, hanging out with friends, and spending much of his time in local community centers.

Terrell was a “mommas boy”, ever since he was a baby. He slept with her every single night fascinated by her ear lobe. He enjoyed eating food, surpassing his father in the amount of food on a plate, in particular curry chicken and rice with the urge for seconds. His other favorite foods were boneless buffalo wings, and plain cheesesteaks. He would suggest that he was trying to gain muscles for basketball.

His childhood is best described as fun, energetic, and adventurous.  He aspired to be a fire investigator, making an impact in the lives of others. Terrell will be remembered by his infectious smile, sense of humor, hug that will melt your heart, and remarkable jump shot.
Terrell is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Joseph Augustine paternal grandparents Eliza Downs, Percival Downs.

Terrell leaves to treasure his memory; his parents Claire and Charles Downs, his brothers Akeel Bernard, Tyriq Bernard, Michael P. Downs, and sister Charlein J. Downs. He also survived his niece Unique Downs, and nephew Michael Downs Jr. along with caring aunts, uncles, and cousins.
