Obituary of Earl Donald Berry

Earl Donald Berry, 76, of New Castle, DE departed this life on September 15, 2016 at Christiana Hospital, Newark DE. He was born on January 22, 1940 in Wilmington,DE to Dorothy Evelyn Wilson Powell. He grew up in the Wilmington area until he joined the United States Marine Corps. Earl traveled throughout his career as a United States Marine. He retired from the Maine Corps as a Master Sergeant from Cherry Point NC, then settled in Jacksonville, NC. He later returned to the Wilmington, DE area where he was employed by the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1694 for many years. Earl attended Howard High School in Wilmington, DE. Earl graduated from the Coastal Carolina Community College with Associate degrees in Accounting, Business Administration and Marketing & Retailing. Earl was a dedicated member of the Monday Club and played on the pool team. Earl was predeceased in death by his mother, Dorothy Powell; sister, Cecilia Allen; and 1 grandchild. Earl is survived by his children, Tamera D Nansteel ( Gerard), Eric D Berry (Wenda), Earline V Omans (George), Edward D Berry (Karen), Michelle Berry, and Kristal D Green (Matthew); his step-daughter Nataki Oliver; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wyatt Powell and Gardner Powell; nieces and nephew; his extend family “The Wagoner’s”; and a host of family and friends. Repast will be held at The Monday Club, 4020 New Castle Avenue, New Castle, DE.
