He Knows, He's Been There
by Deloris Barr
If you think that no one understands
The trials you're going through
The awful pain, the heavy burdens
That seem far too much to endure
Just remember, He knows our puny frame
He's aware, He knows your name
He understands, is very much aware
Yes, He knows, He's been there
He laid aside His mighty power
That's not all, His Glory, too
Even humbled Himself further
He actually died, for me and you
Don't you see, He knows of suffering
He's felt the pain, that you feel within
He understands, He is aware
He knows all about it,
'Cause He's been there
He's been there, yes, He's been there
Jesus knows your situation
Yes He knows, yes, He's been there

Thelma, you are remarkable and I honor your love and care of Mrs. Burton. She was incredible and a true servant leader. There was nothing she wouldn't do for the younth or her community. I will never forget being her roommate in Atlanta at the National Baptist Convention. She worried about me and tried to give me a curfew and "I was twenty years old". I didn't understand it then but I do now. All she wanted was the best for everyone even if it was at the expense of someone being mad. She had a big heart and she will be fondly missed. Mrs. Burton take your well deserved rest because you have earned it. Tell my grandmother and Mrs. McNeil I said hello and until we meet again, know that your living was not in vain. Thanks for your unconditional love.

Thelma and Family,
I am sure that words cannot express the depth of your sorrow but know that your loved one is with the Lord. I have know and loved "Sister Burton" all my life. I am one of the youth who grew up under her loving watch at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she was one of the founding members. Always in her white usher's uniform----what precious memories.
May your loving memories comfort you and bring you peace, now and always.
My prayers arw with you.

Ms. Burton was truly one of a kind. I, along with the majority of my family have many fond memories of her working with the youth ushers at Mt. Sinai. Her presence will be greatly missed. I know that she is in the company of her friends now as she rests. I'm sure my grandmother Julia Reeves was there to meet her at the gate. Rest in peace Ms. Burton your job here is complete. Congratulations on a job well done. Thank you for everything and you will be missed.

Thelma, you have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother, Sallie Ann. Ms. Burton was a faithful worker at our church, working tirelessly with the youth ushers for many years. Although many of the youth she worked with are now grown with youth of their own, they still loved and respected Ms. Burton. Sallie Ann was loved and she will be missed.
Thelma we love you...Be Blesssed
