Mom, Last night, reality set in when I walked into your apartment and you weren't in your spot on the couch or walking from your bedroom with a smile on your face to greet me. I wanted to tell myself so bad that you will be back tomorrow because you were on a bus trip to the casino but I knew that wasn't the case. Then I sat in your spot to get myself together! I thought, who is going to call me to tell me what is going on in North Carolina? I am no longer going to hear you say "now look, Sherrita, you need to watch the news so you know what's going on down there" or you calling asking where is Hakim because you just seen on the news a tractor trailer accident! I can't call you and ask what are you doing or where you been at? I'm going to miss talking to you. You were always Johnny Rocket on the spot when any of us needed you! You knew this was going to be tough for us and you still took care of us through this trial! I have to accept the decree of Allah to help me get through this. I am forever thankful that Allah chose you to be my grandmother! You are and will always be my number one Lady! I love Mom!! Dont worry, I will help my mom and Robin through this! Shelia, Robin and Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother and grandmother I met Nannie 40+ years ago when I first started at Wilmington Trust, we have been friends since then. I just spent the day with her in June we laughed and talked about the old days we had even planned a Casino day. She was a good friend and co-worker. God needed another Angel. My thoughts and prayers are with your Family.

To Sheila, Robin & Family, What can we say at a time like this, you have lost the greatest friend you ever had and we have lost a very kind and loving cousin. She was there for us when our Mother (Aunt Emmaline) passed and now we grieved at her passing. To: Sheila, Robin and the entire family of Ms. Tootie. There are never the right words to say during a time such as this. Please know that you are in my thoughts and daily prayers. I remember when Ms. Tootie would visit her mother on Seventh Street and would call for Sheila and Robin to come in the house when it got late. I'm not going to say how Sheila would respond.
