Tillie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. May our heavenly Father send comfort to you, as only He can. As my own mother would say "Time is certainly winding up". Ms. Gladys is definitely an "angel" now. Peace and love to you all.

Auntee Gladys. News of your Homegoing still hasn't set in on me. But your Love an Caring for me as well as So many others will be with me Forever. You fed me when i was hungry, looked after me an my Siblings just as your own. Never an unkind word for anyone. I remember when my Mother went home to be with the Lord an you said Kevin, there will come a time when you must lose what you love. But just as Mom would say you also said but Don't stop, Keep on Praying, Loving, Working, Hoping, laughing, living. God how i miss you already, Your Smile, Your Laugh, Your Love. Until we see each other again, i will do what you said Auntee Gladys.
Your Beloved
Kevin

I reflect back, upon learning of the passing of your Mom and the word Love is all I can think of. If you were fortunate to have Mrs. Mathis prepare you a meal, you felt the Love she put in her food. If you were fortunate to hear her laugh, you knew there was a loving spirit residing in her. Lastly, but the most important, if you were fortunate to have Mrs. Mathis cast her loving eyes on you, a gaze that bathed you with love and caring, you knew what love was. I was fortunate to have received these gifts from Mrs. Mathis. My prayers are for you , as you grieve, but also thank God you had your Mom as long as you did. Always Love; Chief.

My condolences to the Mathis family in the passing of their mother. Miss Gladys was truly a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sharron, Tillie, Kenny and siblings to lose a mother is one of the most painful parts of life. I don't know if the pain ever goes away but prayer helps to ease the pain.
Keeping you all in prayer,
Carolyn Clark and family

To: Mrs Sharron Mathis Dixon(Rob) & siblings,
It's with heartfelt sympathy during the transitioning of your mom. She was a special woman & I will
Carry the love I felt when visiting her home on 23rd street. Seem like she didn't come out the room much but was always warm and funny while making me feel at home. You all have great faith in God & I know you will lean on him for strength. I know you just lost your father as well & I will keep you lifted in prayer.
Love,
Betty Jean & Minister Rick Waterman

"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, yea saith the Spirit, and they rest from their labors and their works do follow them".
Dear Sister Tillie & Family, It is with heartfelt sympathy and prayerful condolences that we acknowledge the Will of Almighty God has been done concerning your precious Mother Gladys Mathis. A true Woman of God, not only in word but indeed. Mother Gladys was an "ENCOURAGER" to all whom she had the opportunity to come in contact with. She exemplified the Lord Jesus Christ, and magnified the office of her duties as a Devoted Missionary for the up-building of the Kingdom of Heaven. May you find comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
