Obituary of Mariah Nevaeh Selby

Mariah Nevaeh Selby was granted her angel wings on June 13, 2015. Mariah Selby was born on February 22, 2011 at Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland to Tanesha Marita Williams and Hughdon Lamar Selby. Mariah was known affectionately by her father as his "sour patch." Mariah attended Hope Lutheran Christian School in New Castle, Delaware from 2013-2015. She attended The Little People School in Bear, Delaware for about 2 weeks. And in her short time there, she made special friends and developed a close relationship with her teachers. Mariah loved to play with the kitchen set at home and at school, and she loved to help her mom clean. Her favorite things to play with were her Spiderman toys. She also loved to play with cars and trucks. Mariah loved watching her favorite television show Super Y. Her favorite thing to eat were crabs dipped in butter. She also loved going to her Grandmom Betty's house on Saturday mornings for breakfast. With Mariah's passing, we must remember her life is to be celebrated. Although she will be missed, she will forever live in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John Williams, Sr. and her paternal great - grandfather Hughdon Penn Sr. Mariah leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Tanesha Williams and Hughdon Selby; maternal grandparents, Nelda Beatty, Michael and Joan Barnum; paternal grandparents, Robin Medley and Hughdon Penn, Jr.; 2 great-grandmothers, Betty Penn and Versie Barnum; 2 great-grandfathers, Leroy Barnum and Jamie Richardson; 6 aunts, Juanell, Ericka, Alicia, Britney, Danisha, and Tiffany; 8 uncles, Gregory, Miles, John, Michael, Donnell, Troy, Tevin and Charles; a "special cousin" whom she considered her brother, Darryl; and a host of cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and friends.
