Yusef, Rita & Family, I just learned of Brenda's passing. I am truly sorry for the loss of your loved one. Yusef, your mom and I were friends for many years. Brenda was such a wonderful friend and person. We worked together for many years; she was in my wedding; and she was always there for me as a good friend. She was like a a big sister to me. I just happened to see her obituary! I lost it after that! I am so sorry Yusef & Rita. She loved you guys so much, especially her grandchildren and extended family. We here in Crisfield, Maryland were deeply saddened when we heard of Brenda's passing. My condolences go out to your family. The last time that I saw her was 2 years ago at the Woodson Alumni Banquet at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, She told how sick she had been.

To The Family of Brenda... I extend my sincere and deepest condolences on the passing of your, dear mother, grandmother, sister and my friend. The last time I actually saw Brenda was at our dear friend's Cynthia Short's party... It was a blessing seeing Brenda as well as our other friends... It was really a reunion.... and I will always remember Brenda's beautiful alto voice... The song that is fixed in my mind: "Hold Back The Night".... I am so sad to hear of Brenda's passing, or BJ as we called her. We had great times together at UD and as happens our paths went different ways. Hearing the news of Brenda's transition is like losing a part of my youth. We shared so many good times while in college and beyond. Although our lives took different paths, we still ran into each other once in a while and recently reconnected on FaceBook. My heart goes out to her son, grandchildren, siblings and other family members. I am comforted knowing she lived life to the fullest and now is at rest. May God receive her soul and welcome her to dance among the ancestors.

Rita and Lee, I am so heart broken to hear of Brenda's passing. She's someone that I have know all my life. I will always remember seeing her and smiling as she said to me, "are you behaving yourself?" I'm glad we did get a chance to connect even after she moved to VA. She is going to be missed. Rita and Lee, you have my deepest condolences and I will keep you and your family in my heart and prayer.
