To the family:
I only knew Rev. Perry through my work in the Staples Copy Center and Rev. Perry's weekly visits to copy his church bulletin. He was a kind and thoughtful person who always inquired about my health following my bout with serious illness. My weekend work continues but is not as joyous without his weekly visits. I will continue to miss his kindness.

To The Family,
Please accept my condolence.
Hopefully you are able to draw comfort from the scriptures during your difficult time. For example, the Bible refers to death as an enemy that will soon be brought to nothing, according to 1 Corinthians 15 26.
Also, God's Word gives us hope! It mentions a time when all of mankind will have the privilege of reuniting with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. Jesus Christ, at John 5 28, 29 assures us that such an exciting time will definitely take place.
Is it not encouraging to know that our loving Creator, Jehovah, not only has the power to do away with death, but desires to do so? Job 14 14, 15 helps us to appreciate this.
Again, please accept my condolence.

To The Davis Family: This family is like a part of our family, when you have family from Newark,Delaware you all are family in this community. Rev. Perry Davis had a nickname Champ from back in the day. He carry this with him to the very end. There was a song everything must change and nothing stays the same. This was Perry. He was such a blessing to our family when he lived on DuPont Street. He would come and pray at our mother's house(Martha"Billie"Hickman) for our grandmother Emily C. Bell everyday which we never forgot him. He was such a nice man with a lovely smile that brought another smile as Kirk Franklin saids. When God gave him his assignment he kept on going never looked back and that is what made him the "CHAMP" to many of us. We will be praying for the whole family may God bless each and everyone of you. Love, Della,Ernie,Frankie,Bernette and family

To the entire Davis family:
Words cannot begin to express the sadness in my heart for the loss of Rev. Perry (Champ). I have known him my entire life, as he was considered a member of my family (The Wilmer's). Whenever someone in my family passed, Rev. Perry was there for comfort and to eulogize a FRIEND!
He would tell stories of growing up on the East side of Wilmington. One of the funniest stories was about the "gang" called the 13th Street Stompers!!!
The first thing you'd see was that huge smile & he would greet you and leave you with a hug!!!
Rev. Perry had a way of knowing what to say to make you feel better about what you were going through. He will always be one of my favorite people.
Thank you Rev. Perry, for "understanding". I was blessed to have known one of the best. You will truly be missed....love you & may you rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ!!!

To the Davis Family: I was truly sadden when I learned of the new of Rev. Perry L. Davis, Jr. Truly an awesome man of God, husband, father, and friend to many. I always appreciated his kind words whenever we were in a church service. Rev. Davis meant a lot to my family (The Williams Family of Smyrna). We will truly miss his smile, his jokes, and his candor. May God continue to bless Mrs. Trudy and the children. I pray God's strength for you during this difficult time. Sadly submitted, Ursala Garnett

I have lost a dear friend. We had such a special friendship. Perry was one of a kind. His smile could light up the world. If you were under the weather, you needed just to see his smile and you'd feel everything would be alright. He could not always remember my name, so he gave me a new name. Perry, The Hat Lady will truly miss you. My sincere condolences go out to his wife, children and family as well as his church family.

I will always remember preaching at Ringgold and Rev. Davis preaching at my former church, Haven UMC. I enjoyed learning from him, sharing a laugh or a joke with him, and always being greeted by his smiling face. I loved his preaching style and his singing. He was truly a joy to be around.
Goodbye, my friend. See you over in glory.

To the Davis family:
I was so shocked and sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one Rev. Perry Davis Jr. I was speaking to a Chaplain on Friday who told me that he was on his way to the hospital to visit Rev. Davis and asked me if I knew him. I then told him that I did and that I was a good friend of his wife Trudy growing up and went to school with his daughters Lucette and Lavette. Everyone was so fond of Rev. Davis and he will certainly be missed by both family and friends. To Trudy his wife and his children you are all in my prayers. Rev. Davis has finished his earthly race and is now receiving his reward and rest.
