It's taken me 3 years to do this and I still can't believe your gone! I miss you everyday and you still are a friend to me. We became close real quick when we worked together at Walmart. When I found outthe day after you passed I couldn't believe it because I had just talked to you the day that you did pass away. I wish you were here I got so much to tell you. I just found out what happened to Jewel and I just wanted to give my prayers to her family and close friends. I met Jewel at MBNA years ago and she was such a sweet person. There was never a day that I saw and briefly spoke to her and she wasn't smiling. Some people have a good spirit about them inwhich they stand out and shine brighter then others and Jewel was one of this people. My heart goes out to her family and child. Please know that yes this is hard to accept and maybe even understand however, GOD makes NO mistakes. Remember the great times you all shared with her and know that one day you will be reunited.

Jewel and I became friends while attending high school at Hodgson and working together at MBNA. We remained close for years, we even lived on the same street for a while. There were periods when we didn't see each other for months and when we did get together, it was like we never missed a beat. For some reason we always got silly when we were around each other...We would laugh so hard that we would cry...LOL!
I'm thankful we were able to spend time together again. After asking her for YEARS to come to church with me, she finally came on Friday 10/22. We both went really early and I had the chance to hang out Jewel and Amaya. I will miss my friend....I pray peace over her family and thank God now for always providing for every one of Amaya's needs.

To a family of such a beautiful woman,
I have to tell you how my heart hurt and cried out over 50 times in one hour of one long day! MY STORY:
I am Jewels hairstylist as some of you may already know.. While in the hospital she contacted me over and over for food and for me to come do her hair because she wanted to feel pretty! I went to see her and explained that I could not chop all of her hair off at HER REQUEST in the hospital but she did not care and insisted!! Laughing at her we ended the visit and I told her I would come back to visit! She called me saying that she was released from the hospital and that she CHOPPED it all off and I NEED TO fix it! LOL i WAS SOO MAD AT HER BECAUSE SHE DID NOT JUST WANT TO wait! CRAZY girl.. lol.. But happy that she was home. Jewel text me saying that She wanted to schedule an appointment for Wednesday Oct 27,2010 for a Long weave.. The thing is that she had scheduled this appointment a week prior! Jewel NEVER schedules in advance! I asked, "Why so far out?" lol.. Because she is normally 2 days or even a day ahead.. lol.. Sunday I had not heard from Jewel as she text me almost every day to every other!! I was checking in with her to see if she felt good! But that Saturday Prior 10/23/2010 She was sad and she came to me saying that she was really going thru it and she did not know if she should hold in this pain or talk about it!! I said dont hold it in Jewel lets talk about it!! I am here for you! She said Ok... We can talk on Wednesday... Monday I sat at my computer on FB as I saw a post appear and it read, "The good die young but God makes no mistakes. R.I.P Jewel Byrd.....heaven has another angel." Sick to my stomach I reached for my phone as I called her and had no response! That is when The tears fell and after 5 minutes of them falling I heard my cry!! Wow!! But she said Wednesday!!! She left as I waited for Wednesday!! Ughhhhhh!! I took time to think about LIfe and how DEATH IS SOO FINAL! But this is not a sad time!! This is a happy time!! after all of my praying out and selfishness God has gave me this! We live to die! And on earth we need to make sure as our lives are spent that we are an inspiration to someone everyday that we wake! For Jewel was a bright beautiful girl and after all my tears I still cry but I know she is smiling down at me and telling me to SHUT THE MESS UP all in one sentence! Jewel has left her body! But her spirit is still with us! I love her! I will never stop!! Those that are sad.. Know that Jewel was tired of being SICK.. She was tired of soo many things.. she prayed out As I prayed with and she is HAPPY!! Lets not have a funeral lets have a home going service.. She played her part for her time on Earth now its her time with her FATHER in HEAVEN!!! Thank you Jesus... only tears we can cry are happy ones... God bless...
