Obituary of Joseph McDonald Ashe

Rev. Joseph McDonald Ashe, son of the late Harriet Brinkley was born on August 16, 1939 in St. Georges Hundred, DE. However, Rev. Ashe departed this world on Sept. 3, 2010; at home surrounded by his family. Rev. Ashe received his early education in the public schools of Middletown, DE. He later received his G.E.D. during his enlistment in the U.S. Army. However, he was honorably discharged in 1965 and became a graduate of RCA Technical Institute in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Taking advantage of his trade obtained at RCA Technical Institute, Rev. Ashe ventured into self employment, establishing Ashe Construction Comapny, Inc. and Ashe Trucking Inc. Being an active member of Ringgold Chapel AME Church located in Middletown, DE, it was where Rev. Ashe accepted his calling to preach Gods word and graduated from Faith Unity Fellowship Biblical Institute in 1997. He was preceded in death by his daughter Marie A. Blackston; mother Harriet M. Ashe Brinkley,;father Edgar T. Brinkley, Sr., two brothers, Terrance A. Brinkley and Louis Powell and one sister Allison E. Brinkley, wife Mildred Ashe. He is survived by 4 sons, Joseph A. Ashe, Sr., Christopher M. Ashe, Sr., Steven D. Sadler and Jamal R. Sadler; one daughter, Rosalynn Boddy; 2 adoptive children, Jasmine E. Sadler and Montez R. Downes; 6 brothers, Elwood L. Ashe, Edgar T. Brinkley, Jr., Dana A. Brinkley, Sr., Kenneth B. Brinkley, Sr., Gary E. Brinkley and Reese Mason; 4 sisters, Dorothea Grinnage, Bertha E. Smith, Alice Powell and Virginia Yellowdy; 8 grandchildren and a host of relatives, and friends; He also leaves a devoted companion of 20 years, Lisa M. Sadler. Read Rev.
