Vernon L. Hunter/Vernon Goldstein Vernon, age 51 departed this life Sunday, June 6, 2010. Son of late Venter Wright and Rachael Harrison. He had been employed for many years with the Grand Opera House. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Howard Harrison and brother Mitchell Wright. He is survived by his wife, Theila Brown; son Vernon Brown; 5 sisters, Mildred Wright, Rose M. Hunter, Betty Hunter, Yvonne Alston, and Iris Bobbitt (Dan); 8 brothers, Ernest Wright (Glenda), James R. Hunter (Linda), Venter R. Wright, Howard Harrison (Lillian), Willis Boney (Phyllis), Terry Boney (Miriam), Michael Carey and Leslie Carey; 4 aunts, Rebecca Thompson (Lun), Retha May Joyner, Lacy B. Hunter and Doreatha Hunter; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Vernon enjoyed dancing and oldies music. He was a very caring and compassionate person. He would give his last to anyone. He was truly a heart of gold. Vernon was survived by his devoted sister, Mildred Wright, devoted niece, Sherrie and devoted friends, William Chase and Raymond Reid.
