Obituary of Bernell Gordon

Bernell Gordon "B", age 40, son of Alberta Gordon and the late Willie N. Gordon, born December 18, 1969 in Wilmington, DE, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 26, 2010 in his home. He received his early childhood education at Wilmington Montessori then graduated from Concord High School in 1988. Shortly after, he attended Deltech Community College. During his youth, he attended Calvary United Methodist Church and in his adulthood, he then attended River of Love Christian Fellowship. On May 31, 1994, he was blessed with a daughter, Simmone Lucinda Gordon (mother) Lucie Matocha. During his teenage years, he managed to hold a paper route and then went on to work several years at SuperFresh onto being a security guard at Wilmington Job Corp and Gettier Security Co. He trained under the late Jaq Taylor, receiving multiple awards and accomplishments in Authentic Ninjutsu and Budo Taijutsu. He loved the art of art. He enjoyed playing his guitar, private talks and walks with Simmone, down to partying and going out with April (sister) and Derrick and Sam (brothers). Bernell was predeceased in death by his father, Willie Nelson Gordon. He leaves this life to cherish his memories, 3 daughters, Simmone Gordon, Skylar and Jordan Shinn; his mother, Alberta Gordon; 2 sisters, April Gordon and Shevonta Bowe Gordon; 2 brothers, Derrick Gordon and Samuel Bennett; 2 nieces, Ra'Gine and Ra'Nae Grinnell; 1 nephew, Reginald M. Grinnell Jr. (Papi); godparents, Sid and Carol Balik; several adopted friends, Charles Harris, TJ Wilson, AJay Sands, Joy Shinn, Marquis Green, Donta Thompson and Steve Green; his WHOLE 37th STREET FAMILY and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
