To: Elijah, Bathshe'Ba, Cherie II It's been a year and almost eight months that you lost your dad. As I watched you within this time frame, I can see how GOD has really been with the three of you. Just know that your dad loved the three of you and wanted the best that life could give to you. As a mother sitting on the sideline, I share in your hurts and pains. I will always be here to comfort and console you. With much love, Mommy

It's been a year and I'm just now coming to grips that Darrell is gone. No, it doesn't seem real but it is. Many conversations that we had comes to mind often and I smile. But again, GOD knows best. Some things we will never understand until we get to HEAVEN. HEAVEN is my goal and I hope that everyone that visits this guestbook will meet the requirements to make it into the KINGDOM.

Tamara, it may not have been easy for you within this past year, but I know that GOD is on your side. My prayer is that GOD will continue to strengthen you and keep you and Victor. With GOD all things are possible. Be encouraged.

All of this is just finally hitting me. Being at his memorial service was just the begining of a long journey without my father. I belive this was our year to make things right and complete between him and my siblings. Reguardless of the emotions we all feel towards each other, we couldn't deny that he was our dad. I know he loved me as well as Elijah Swain and Chierie Swain; my brother and sister. Watching the clip of my father being taken away from the crime scene triggered something in me. How could a careless person just up and do such a thing? Everyday I try to take my mind off this, and my father but it gets harder eveyday. I thank GOD and my church family-Voice Of Hope Deliverance Church located in Camden NJ- for being there for us. Without GOD I believe I would've emotionally self destruct. Without my church family; and with my pastor, Apostle Bruce C. Lester, I would've given up o faith and the power of prayer. Lately going to church and listening to the WORD has been keeping me sane. It'l take tme to heal but I believe prayer changes EVERYTHING. I would like to thank everyone for being in my family's corner through these trying times.

I remember when 'Big Guy', as I called Darrell, began at Downtown Visions. From day one he was full of enthusiasm and kept that same dispositon to the end.
On a few occasions we patrolled together around Rodney Square during rush hour. It was during these moments together that I realized that in spite of his physical presence, Darrell was nothing more that a giant teddy bear.
That is the memory that will remain with me. He was a big guy, with an even bigger heart.

Losing a loved one is difficult. Hold on to God's unchanging hand walk and talk with him be unyielding in acceptance of this day that was already written. Be encouraged and know that God's timing is perfect. Give the enemy NO credit for all things he has meant for bad but God meant it for good and HIS GLORY WILL BE MADE MANIFEST.We are in a season where although God IS THE PILOT, WE MUST BRACE FOR IMPACT. To my extended family Downtown Visions i am sorry for loss. To the wife God is good, Hold on Jesus already did the hanging!! Love you all!
