To: All the Family of Aunt Lela I will never forget the memories of Aunt Lela, especially when she worked with her sister Aunt Jamel caring for the elderly, we lived on the top floor. I loved to talk to her and learn the wisdom and knowledge that she knew of the years as a strong black woman. It was truly a blessing to see her at the past family reunions of the "Jackson-Gloster-Morgan Reunion",she will truly be missed, family keep the faith, to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Mother Lela Romeo. As a child growing up at New Calvary Baptist Church I cant think of memories without Mother Romeo always giving words of wisdom to the youth. She loved her saviour, her church, her family and the children of NCBC. Her smiled warmed the peoples whose lives she touched. I am so grateful for the time I spent with Mother Romeo and the love she showed us children at NCBC.
