Thursday, June 18, 2009
The entire Luckey family was sadden to hear of our long time friends passing.
One of our fondness memories which will always remain in our hearts, is that each time Bill visited our home, he'd always have a lollipop for the youngest child Beanie who is now 26 years old. The eyes of the child, as well as Bill's eyes would appear like gleaming bright stars in anticipation of such a treat. This sight brought joy to us all, and this memory will always remain in our hearts. We will shed many tears, but the spirit of each one of us will rejoice for Bill is now safe with our Lord and savior. Bill will be truly missed

Reed was a very caring and fun-loving person. He loved life and through his action and "daily antics" he found time to make others know that he cared. Reed had a laughing heart - one that saw the serenity of an autumn leaf and mist upon the mountains. Reed has a caring heart - one that was tender toward the needs of others. I will miss his saying, "Ms. Mary, we got that." Always abreast of the needs of others throughout The News Journal building. To the family, please accept my heartfelt condolences in the lost of your loved one and be reminded in words of the song "It Is Not Death to Die" - It is not death to die, To leave this weary road, And 'mid the brotherhood on high, To be at home with God. It is not death to bear, The wrench that sets us free, From dungeon chain, to breathe the air of boundless liberty. Jesus, thou Prince of Life, Thy chosen cannot die! Like thee, they conquer in the strife, To reign with thee on high.
Prayerfully submitted

The News Journal just isn't the same without the soulful humming that filled the halls as you walked down the hallways. Thanks for checking in on me every morning with that "Hey number one!!" I know God has a special place in his choir for that voice of yours and I'm sure that if I listen close enough, I'll still be able to hear you humming:) I surely do MISS YOU "Reed"...Your number one Detroit Diva

I miss Reed already just seeing his picture. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. I know that everyone who knew Reed, loved him! He always had a sense of what was true & good. His heart was kind & sincere. We use to sit on the deck and share thoughts in between our two minute breaks. He'd have his bandana on, singing a little song. Moments like that and always an encouraging word told me he was at peace with God then. He truly was a child of God!

Bill R. You meant a lot to both of us in different ways. You welcomed me into our homegroup, and held my hand, you taught me so much, and I am so greatful to have had you in my life. You would always say "what's up Sis", and I would respond with "I'm good Bro", and you'd nod, and say all is well. I'm going to miss that, and will surely miss you, but know that I love you, and appreciate you.
Bill R. My home boy, rest in peace, and although you may have thought I was never listening, just know that I was, I thank you for sharing all your experience, strength, and hope with me.....Mike L. We love you Bill R. Rest in Peace.
