When the Lord brought Sis. Alma Woodard into this world, he did a truly amazing thing. Each day she lived HE was glorified and those of us fortunate enough to be around her were blessed.
May the comfort of family and friends be your strength now and the days ahead.

Dear Jackie and Family,
Every time I hear the song, "I'm Free", I'll always think of Aunt Alma because her soul is resting!
Family, as we meditate on life and death, let us be content because with GOD all things are right
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteous, which the lord, the righteous judge will give to me on that day, and not to me only, but also to all who have loved his appearing"
II Tim, 4:7-8 NIV

Hi Jackie,
I was sadden by the news of your mothers' passing, but we know "God Knows Best." It was a pleasure to know your mother, she had a kind and gentle spirit. She knew all the traditional Baptist hymns, didn't mind singing them and she let me know most of all, that she knew who Jesus was. We had some delightful days as she shared the room with my mother.
"I am Free" was one song she would always start to sing during our singing times. Today she is "Free Indeed" and I thank God for allowing our paths to cross in such a wonderful way.
May God Bless and keep you, your brother, your daughter and grandchildren in his loving care. I will stay in touch.

Jackie Sue, Shumari, Michelle and Kids!!! I can truly say an Angel walked among us. Aunt Alma had such a calming spirit, she made me want to know the Lord because of her joyful relationship with God that she just oozed with!!! Aunt Alma should of been called Aunt Sweetness cause that is what she was. I will never forget her kind words..even when she called me by every name of my sisters. I know she knew me. So, cry for a while, but there is nothing sad about this woman life....She is walkin' round heaven...alll day!!! Glory

To Jackie,Michelle,and Norman Jr.
I was saddened to hear of the loss of Mrs. Woodard's (affectionately known as Woo Woo) passing. I remember her being one of the most kindest, gracious, and caring First Ladies of Pilgrim Baptist church. Those who are in CHRIST know to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. So take comfort in knowing she and Rev John C. Woodard are together again around GOD's throne.
Love,
Jerone Holmes
