She was a member of Scott A.M.E. Zion Church before her death. She attended school in Steward, Alabama. She was married to the A.C. Jackson and moved to Bessemer, Alabama where she began her family. She was married to the late Willlie Dee Virgis. She was employed by the Wiltex Company for30 years until she retired. She was preceded in death by one son, a daughter and 4 grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Rev. Dorothy Bell, Norma Jean Tate, Shirely J. Jackson and Patricia (Patty) Peters and Betty Sears; 2 sisters, Katherine Underwood and Reather McDowell; and brother-in-law Willie Underwood; and 33 grandchldren, 11 great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
