Over the past 2 plus months, I've tried to convince myself this didn't happen. When that didn't work, I decided not to deal with by ignoring my thoughts and feelings and just helping others but NOTHING has worked. To the Family of Abdur-Rahman "ROC" Ismail,
I have read in the NEWS JOURNAL of Mr. Ismail's un-timely death at such a young age. I am deeply saddened. Learning that Roc was employed with Recovery Innovations, a new contractor to help Delawareans in need and helping to provide much needed services, and as Roc was a licensed practioner, and not knowing the circumstances of his death, we more than obviously have lost a very talented, gifted and educated young man. My deepest condolences are extended at this time of sorrow.

I would like to extend my condolences to Jordan and Roc's entire family during this difficult time. Roc and I attended Mount Pleasant High School together and we ran into each other again when we began our Masonic journey in 2010. He was a dedicated father and a honorable man. Abdur-Rahman, it seemed just yesterday when I cared for you as a child, babysitting you and your sister while your umi ran her errands. So many memories to think of, tears of joy I try to make these, but I know your in good hands. Just thinking of you and Abdur-Rahiim like brothers one minute fighting and the next riding your bikes together. you are and always will be my brother. I am happy to know that you are in Allah's hands right now and He will have you in paradise. I love you

I met Roc within a few weeks of arriving at UD as a freshman. He was like a big brother, providing advice and assistance when he could. When I became a Zeta, our chapters were very close; it was like family. He will be greatly missed.

I remember us meeting at UD and bonding over our island food and how you loved puerto rican rice & beans with plantains (which is how I was affectiontely given the name "Puerta Roc")and how you trusted me to watch and hang out with Jordan at her young age. I truly hope this finds your family well and holding up over the loss of "ROC" I want to convey my deepest sympathy on your loss.
Times like this truly test our faith. Just when things seem so disappointing is when we have to remember that God will not let us suffer any more that we can bear. By calling on our faith and putting our trust in God, we will find the peace and comfort that we are seeking to ease our pain.
