Obituary of Annie Lee Calloway

She was born July 31, 1930 in Palatka, Florida to the late Luchen Francis and the late Johnnie Mae Francis-Smith. Annie Lee was educated through the Putnam County Public School system (Central Academy) of Palatka, FL. In her early years she moved to Wilmington, DE. Where she worked as a housekeeper. She later became a housekeeping supervisor for the Walnut Street Branch, Y.M.C.A. for 32 years, until she retired in 1991. Her beloved brothers and sisters, Arnett Francis, Lizzie Mae Ward, and Mildred Bolling preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Jones Congo; granddaughter, LaTyra K. Jones; 3 grandchildren, LaTanya, Darnell, Jr. and Jasmine Jones-Thomas all of NewCastle, DE; brother, Sylvester Francis, step-sister, Evelyn Green, godsister, Agnes Vickers all of Palatka, FL.; special niece, Barbara Christian of Vineland, New Jersey, and devoted friends, Garrett and Mary Thomas, Dave and Eva Garrett, Romella Johnson all of NewCastle, DE and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous caring friends.
