We feel as a family you are what holds us together, but we have to realize that each one of us has a part of you within. It's hard to except that we can't feel you or see you when we wan't. Even as I say just that my throat just aches from holding the tears back. I know your in better place. A soldier you were in the flesh, now a soldier for the Lord. Keep fighting mom-mom. To all of the family of Ms. Ruthie, She was such a blessing to all of us. I remember when we all use to come over the house over in Riverside, catching the bus to the Salvation Army supporting us on the baseball field at Kingswood, and as I became older, I would still run into her with that BEAUTIFUL smile, always with a positive and encouraging word....I too will miss her so much. She was a supportive, mother, grandmother, and wife to all of you, whatever you do in life always remember MOM MOM is looking down on us with that smile...love you all..Donna

A Special Tribute To Our Wonderful Daycare Teacher
âÂoeMrs. Ruthieâ Wallace
(From the Mr. Chollie Evans Family -- Children
Kingswood -- Over 11th Street Bridge)
June 3, 2008
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord, my soul to keep, If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.
Mrs. Ruthie, Today, You are happy and we know it, so we are clapping our tiny hands
Mrs. Ruthie , Today, You are happy and we know it, so we are patting our little feet
Mrs. Ruthie, Today You are happy and we know it, a--n--d,
We Really! Really! want to show it.
Mrs. Ruthie, You are happy today and we know it âÂ"AMEN!
You were very important, and Mrs. Ruthie, you meant so much to us during our daycare years in ways big and small. You touched to many hearts to ever be forgotten.
The Evans Children want to thank you so much for supporting us, believing in us and inspiring us at a very young age. We feel so lucky to have had such an amazing daycare teacher.
You always gave us building blocks to help us learn each day.
Mrs. Ruthie you gave us alphabet cards and taught us to count using numbers in your own fun and special way.
You always saw that we had a healthy breakfast when we arrived at school each day.
You gave us Dora, Power Puff Girls, Sesame Street, Power Ranger, Spiderman, Afro- American Barbie and Sponge Bob Band-aids when ever we fell or hurt ourselves. Your special hugs and loving kindness helped make school fun in every way.
Mrs. Ruthie when we went to another daycare you came along with us there too. We looked forward to lunch and snack because you saw that we received that too.
We rarely got a chance to be honorary at school, because you taught our moms and dads too. You would even call our parents at work and tell on us and, we got a serious talking to in the car or as soon as we got home.
We loved it when your husband Mr. John Wallace picked us up on the Kingswood van. He would not let us go into the street alone, he would hold on very tightly to our small little hands.
Mrs. Ruthie, youâÂ(TM)ve been a guiding light, and, were instrumental in our up bringing and our early growth. We look now toward the future, and more happier days of our lives. Mrs. Ruthie, we will always remember your kind and caring ways.
Today, we are stronger, we are so much better, we are even wiser! We are still All of your children!
You were an excellent, kind and loving teacher to each and every one of us and, in so many fond and memorable ways.
Mrs. Ruthie: God Must Be A Super Man!
Because today he has taken A Wonderful and amazing âÂoeWonder Womanâ to teach from heaven on high.
We Love you so much Mrs. Ruthie, But God Loved You Best!
Humbly submitted,
Tammy Smith, Alita Parker Lee, âÂoePeanut, Cassy Smith, Jahkeem, Sierrah Evans Harris, Daysha, Adrianna, Alasia, Astraya Hoskins and Little Jaheem Gadsden, previous daycare attendees.

It saddens me to hear of your wife, mother, sister, aunt,my cousin's passing. I will always remember Cousin Ruthie with the heartest laugh and always with a smile on her face. Ruthie was a great baseball player and she had the patience of Job, when she tried to teach me how to play cards. She always had good advice and I remember Ruthie as the peacemaker when we played cards.
She was never a stranger anywhere because she made a friend of everyone she met.
I will certainly miss Ruthie. Thank you Ruthie for the comfort you bestowed upon me and my family. You did it without effort, because you cared.
Ruthie loved to show hospitality to everyone. She loved all of us because she wanted too. She cared about us from her heart.... and that is a lesson we all should learn. Thank you Ruthie for the lessons of life you taught me.
God I thank you for placing Ruthie an extraordinary flower in our mist.
God Bless you all
Love you all..... Stay encourged.

Mr. Johnny, Squeeky, Terry, Ronnie, Gregory, Sandy, Lisa, Vanessa, Chester and all the rest of the Wallaces: Ms. Ruthie was a precious gem who will forever be in our hearts and minds and with us spiritually. I just loved the way she would always smile when she'd see me at softball games or wherever. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy and safe inside. She and Mr. Johnny have that kind of effect on me, like extended parents. And Mr. Johnny, you and Ms. Ruthie were the rock of Riverside back in it's heyday! We have lost a great woman, but God has TRULY gained an Angel. The loss hurts I know, but understand that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. May God continue to bless you and give strength to your family daily.

To Vanessa, Terri, Ronnie and the entire Wallace family. I was just joking with your Mom at church on Mother's Day. Kissing her cheeks and teasing Vannesa about Ms. Ruthie being my adopted Mom and her telling me about how she helped raise my husband Lew as she would do every time I saw her. We seem to take life for granted sometimes when in fact we never know when it will be our last time seeing someone. I am truly sad to learn of the passing of Ms. Ruthie and my prayers are truly with you all.

To the Wallace family I would like to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to you. I know this has to be hard for you because you truly lost a jewel. Then again no she's not lost. We know exactly where she is. She was such a beautiful person that she has to be resting in the arms of Jesus. I don't usually remember people from long ago but I remember Ms Ruthie from when I use to go to Kingswood and I'm now 40 years old. I truly never forgot her or her husband Mr John. Truly and honestly two beautiful people. I will continue to keep you all in prayer. Take comfort in the memories you have and the life she lived. Also that she went home to glory and if you seek and follow Jesus, you will see her again. Weeping may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning. Take care and God bless. This is sent with much, much, love.

We are so very sorry to hear about your loss. Although it feels like a loss to you, Ms. Ruthie has gained so much more in heaven than we can ever imagine. Our mother passed away only 3 short years ago and as you know Ms. Ruthie and our mother (Mrs. Leanna) & families go waaaayyyy back. Now, they are both enjoying their eternal lives in glory with no illnesses, no pain , no struggles, and definitely no worries. Family, it's ok to miss her and we know how much it hurts, but remember, when it seems like no one else is there, GOD IS! GOD Is Your Strength in times like these. One day you will look back and wonder how you made through??? ONLY GOD. The Giles Family is here and will always be here for you.
