Obituary of Gladys H. Ford

Gladys H. Ford, of Wilmington, DE, Age, 87, passed Fri., Dec. 7, 2007 at Hillside Nursing Home. Services, 7pm Tues. Dec. 11, 2007 at Ezion Mt. Carmel U.M. Church 800 N. Walnut St. Wilm, DE; viewing 5-7pm. Eastern Star Ritual at 6:15pm. Interment at Wed. morning at 10:00am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Gladys Hattie Ford daughter of the late John Wesley and Agnes Livingston in North, South Carolina on Oct. 6, 1920. She attended public schools in North, South Carolina. Gladys gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was very active in St. James Methodist Church. After, the death of her father she came to Wilmington, DE. She joined Bethel AME Church, and later joined Ezion Fair Baptist Church to support her husband Mr. John Emory Groves. To that union one daughter was born H. Dolores Wilson; grandmother to Anthony Edward Wilson, SFC. Teresa Dineen Wilson, US Army and Eric Emory Wilson; 5 great grands. After, the death of Mr. Groves Gladys was married to Earl Edward Ford, L.F.D. for 42 beautiful years also. preceded to heaven by brothers Ernest, John Victor, and Hilton Livingston and sisters Idella Saylor and Qumiller Wise. She is survived by her daughter Dolores, brothers Paul, Abraham and Charles Livingston and sisters Vastine and Creamer Livingston and Laura Mae Jeffcoat ; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
