Obituary of Samuel Edward McCants

of Wilmington, DE departed this life peacefully on Thursday, July, 3, 2003 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by family. Samuel Edward McCants was born to the Late Joseph McCants and Martha Hannah in Johnsville, S.C. He was preceded in death by 3 children Clyde Benjamin, Sr., Tommie Lee McCants and Alexander (Bey) McCants; as well as 1 sister and 3 brothers. He retired from the DuPont Company after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 63 years, Addie L. McCants; three daughters Irene Wilson, Alvilta McKnight and Sandra McCants; four sons Buster Hannah, Samuel J. McCants, James H. McCants, and Jerome L. McCants; 1 son-in-law- Dea. Johnnie B. Wilson; three daughter-in-laws, Valerie B. McCants, Kathy T. McCants and Brenda McCants; 40 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
