Obituary of Freda Tate

Freda Tate affectionately called "Mother" by her children and son-in-laws was born on December 23, 1923 to loving parents, Henry and Rosa Dennis in the district of Prospect, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. In her early years, she attended the Giddy Hall All age School and upon completion she moved to Kingston where she practiced dressmaking and knitting; she was a home maker who enjoyed cooking for her family and whose company she loved dearly. Seeking the American Dream, Freda migrated to the United States in the early 1960s and in 1975 she met and married William Tate, he preceded her in the call to be with Christ. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters': Daphney Dennis, Ethel Dennis, and Clarice Letman, brother, Raphael Dennis, four daughters, Joyce Adams, Patricia Edwards, Doreen Thomas and Cecille Latty and one son, Ancel Graham; eleven grandchildren and 9 great-grand children, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
