Why was Aunt Lucy so special to me? Well, Aunt Lucy and my mother looked so much alike that they were often mistaken for twins. When I looked at her, I was looking at my mother. Aunt Lucy was so knowledgeable that I truly believe she could have held her own on the TV show "Jeopardy." I say that because she was knowledgeable in many things such as real estate and politics. We often teased Aunt Lucy about being a Republican, but everyone has freedom of choice. When she used to visit my mom, her sister, in Virginia, it was always a treat to see her because she was so kind and full of fun and laughter. I am so glad I got a chance to correspond with her prior to her death. May the God of our salvation bless and keep her and may He reunite her with her husband who recently passed.

Miss Nana was a wonderful woman of God who will be greatly missed. She was a care-giver, leader and a strong woman of faith and grace. I am honored that I grew up around her and knew her. Not only did she take excellent care of the members of her family, she also helped people in her community and took in boaders. She had a long fruitful life and left behind a legacy that should be envied by all. For the family, I know that you loved her as she loved you and my prayer is that her memory and the things that she taught us all about leadership, devotion and patience will shine in your hearts for ever.
Rest in Peace Miss Nana,
You will be missed,
Love Tanisha Dungee

To Ms. Esther, Pam & Girls,
Ms. Lucy, my neighbor & my friend, It was no Senior Citizen ever, with the Young Spirit that she had. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the great-great grandchildren kept her young. She was so sweet and kind all the time. I had 42 years of knowing her, and talking with her, and laughing with her. She was a very special lady, I'll miss her, but I know that she lived so that she could live again.
God Bless the entire family, as you enjoy the memories of Ms. Lucy!!!

I will always remember the good times spent in Wilmington with my sister Lucy. We always ate crabs in the local shop. She would always come back home to Courtland,Va.until her health fail.
She will always have a place in my heart.
