Obituary of Roosevelt Scott

Roosevelt Scott (Scottie) was born to the late Maggie and Willie Scott on July 17, 1034 in Boykins, Virginia, along with his twin brother, Robbie. The lord called his servant home early Thursday morning, December 29, 2011. He was baptized and became a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Zuni, Virginia at an early age. He attended Georgia Tyler High School, later studied insurance and became an insurance salesman. Through the years he also worked at DuPont Experimental Station for many years until he retired. Scottie enjoyed watching race cars and car auctions and enjoyed spending time with family. On July 5, 2009, he wed his longtime friend of 33 years, Lucille Penn in Holy Matrimony. Scottie will be dearly missed by his loving wife, three sisters; Maggie Haskins (Robert), Dina Britt (Wayman), both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Reeva Scott of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, eight brothers; Willie Scott of Chesapeake, Virginia, Roland Scott (Gloria) of Ellendale, Delaware, Darnell Scott (Isidra) or Kalamazoo, Michigan, Wardell Scott (Rosa) and Dennis Scott, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Cecil Scott of Lincoln, Delaware, Sidney Scott (Saretta) of Penns Grove, New Jersey.
