Obituary of Vincent Courtney Robertson

Vincent Courtney Robertson of Wilmington, De, age 54, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2007 at home. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on October 15, 1952 to Irvin and Rebecca Robertson who preceded him in death. Vincent was educated in the public schools of Roanoke. He graduated from Lucy Addison High School and received an associate degree from National Business College of that city. He joined in Holy matrimony with Teresa Ferguson of Roanoke in 1982, to this union were born three sons, Stokley, Clifford and Cory. The family moved to Wilmington in the eighties where Vincent worked for Amtrak for a number of years before a partially crippling accident forced him to retire. Vincent was kind, generous and committed to his family and community . He was active in his church. He did volunteer work for Goodwill Industries and other organizations in which he felt he could make a difference. His wife preceded him in death as well as two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his sons, daughters-in-law, Doris and Tammy; five grandchildren, Stokley, Tomiah, Coreyon, Shaquanna, Jasmine and Britany all of New Castle County; three brothers, Bernard of Tampa, FL, Patrick of Roanoke, VA, Barry of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Marie of Roanoke, VA, he also leaves sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends to celebrate his life.
