Obituary of Bronwlyn Laverne Haman

Bronwlyn Laverne “Lynn” Butcher Haman Daughter of the late Leon Butcher, Sr., and Vivan Gardley Butcher, was born March 22, 1947 in Wilmington, DE. After a long battle and courageous fight Lynn was called home by our Heavenly Father to come and get her well-deserved rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Mrs. Haman received her early education through the Symrna School District, and graduated proudly in the Class of 1965 from John Bassett Moore High School. Throughout her schooling she was known for her extraordinary singing voice. After graduating from high school she was employed by the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna. She was later employed by the Bank of Delaware now known as PNC Bank where she retired after 27 years of service. While employed by the bank, she was always known for her radiant smile. Her hobbies included singing, traveling, reading, fishing, and working with her flowers. Her favorite holiday was Christmas were she enjoyed selecting a gigantic tree to be decorated. She was a loving wife; mother and grandmother who was truly family oriented, and was always willing to go the extra mile for them. She received her religious foundation at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Smyrna, DE. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Dover, DE, however later returned to Bethel A.M.E. in Smyrna. Bronwlyn was predeceased by her parents, and the father of her children, Delbert “Dave” Haman, Sr.; her sister, Lorna B. Archer and Aunt Durena B. “Aunt Sis” Harris. She leaves behind a loving family that consists of her children, Deborah Y. Butcher of Tampa, FL, Brian J. and (Crystal) Butcher, Delbert L. “D.L.” Haman, and Jordan C. Haman & (Jessie) all of Dover, DE. She also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren, Taylor Butcher, Tiffany Butcher and Jordan c. Haman, Jr. all of Dover, DE. She leaves to cherish, memories for her siblings that consists of; Leona & (Ira) Green of Houston, TX, Leon & (Beatrice) Btucher, Jr., Bonnnie & (Johnny) Brown, Gordon & (Irene) Butcher all of Wilmington, DE, Karen & (Calvin) Brooks of Houston, TX, Jawanda Morrow, Kevin & (Pat) Butcher all of Wilmington, DE and Trent and (Carmen) Butcher of Nebraska. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law who include, Tempie Harding, Dorothy Grinnage, Henritta Ennis, Virginia Saunders, Phyllis Watson, Darlene Smith, Marlene Haman, Sarah Johnson, and Vanessa Haman; her brothers-in-law include, Donald Haman, Andrew Haman and Steve Haman all of New Castle County. In addition, Lynn is survived by Aunt Wilhelmina and Uncle Calvin May of Smyrna, DE, with whom she resided with from an early age; her “Aunt Sis” who preceded her in death also was instrumental with her upbringing. She will be lovingly missed by two devoted cousins who were like siblings to her, Rubeon C & (Dorothy) May of Dover, DE and Linda May Anderson of Smyrna, DE.
