Obituary of Tina Sirwana Watson

was born on August 2, 1963 in Sebring, Florida to Jimmie Lee Stephens and the late Devell Durham, Sr., departed this life on October 1, 2006 after a long illnnes in Heartland Hospice House, she went home to be with the Lord to take a much needed rest. Tina received her early education in the Florida Public School and after moving to Wilmington, Delaware with her family, she continued her education at Glasgow High School and was later employed by the Wyndham Garden Hotel as a banquet server. Tina loved to read and do crossword puzzels and she enjoyed music, arts & crafts and family gatherings were food, laughter and fun was always the main event but most of all she loved, she loved her four children and made sure they knew it. During an outreach service in 1994 Tina was introduced to the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Through this confession of faith she became a member of Bibleway Holy Church now Redeeming Grace Worldwide Ministries, Inc. were she took pleasure in singing in the choir Tina loved her church and her church family. Though she struggled in many ways she never lost sight of Who God was and would always share the word with others even through her addiction. She was a preacher of the gospel in her own way. No matter what she had to go through in life. Tina was witness that you can never underestimate the power of God in your life. Tina made the most of her last days with daily vists from her mother and her family, giving instructions to everyone and encouraging them to continue on in faith, as she continued to build her relationship with the Lord and prepared to meet Him. She became fond of the song "I can only imagine, what I will do when I stand before you" She no longer has to imagine. Although the void she leaves will never be filled as God took her home to be with Him, the next day he blessed us with a baby girl through her niece Kita who has been named in remembrance of Tina. She leaves to cherish her memories; 4 children, Rasheena, Gwen, Quentin and Naiesha Watson; 1 grandchild, Kalee Watson; her mother, Jimmie Lee Stephens; 13 sisters Sonya Gaines, Melissa Davis, Suzette Miller, Jessi Lee Carter, Bertha Boykins Evelean Hilton, Roberta Patterson, Evelyn Culter, Mary Anderson and Wanda, Easter and Patricia Durham; 9 brothers, Johnny, Tony, Tommy, Durham and Devell Durham, Jr.; 4 sisters-in-law, Iris and Barbara Stephens, Bobbi and Tina Durham; brothers-in-law, Joe Hilton, Vincent Anderson; 6 aunts, Hazel Woods, Patricia Moore, Irene Davis, Betsie Mae Smith, Clara Mae Toomer, Mozell Davis; uncles, Nathaniel Watson, Irving Parker, Joseph Stirrup, Roy Davis and Floydell Durham; A godsister, Wendy Williams; a devoted friend, Mike Chesson and a special friend who ministered to her faithfully in her last days, Wayne Rudd and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
