Obituary of Geraldine Redden-Dorsey

GERALDINE DORSEY Geraldine "Geri" (Redden) Dorsey Age 71, departed this life on Friday, August 25, 2006, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine Dorsey, daughter of the late George P. and Georgiana Redden, was born September 1, 1934. She was a member of Revival Fellowship Church in her early adult years, and later became a faithful, active member of The Pentecostal Church of the Living God on 12th & Lombard Sts., where she served as a senior usher, missionary and former president of the Pastor's Aide until becoming ill. She received her early education at School #20 and #29, and later attended Howard High School. She was a domestic technician for many years, and worked for various families throughout the Wilmington area. Geraldine loved spending time with her entire family. She impacted all from the oldest son to the youngest great grandchild. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, baking cakes, gardening, knitting and listening to gospel music. Geraldine Dorsey was preceded in death by her brothers, Dalton, Preston and Clayton Redden; and sisters, Mary Cornish, and Dorothy and Patsy Redden. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband of 54 years, Clarence E. Dorsey, Sr.; 4 sons and 6 daughters, Clarence Dorsey, Jr., Dolores Collins-Broomer (John), Dorothy Roane, Florine Coleman (McKinley), Shirley Hicks and Michael Dorsey (Mishelle), all of Wilmington, DE, James Dorsey (Leona), of Bear, DE, Oliver Dorsey (Hellon) and M. Sheila Dorsey (Bruce), all of Newark, DE, and Doris Johnson (Joseph), of Cedartown, GA; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren; 2 stepsisters, Gardenia Moore (Benjamin) and Priscilla Tildon; a brother-in-law, Bernard Dorsey (Valerie); 2 sisters-in-law, Jeannette Dorsey and Leona Redden; 2 aunts, Sadie Foreman and Clara Tull; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Read Geraldine Redden-Dorsey's Obituary and Guestbook on houseofwrightmortuary.com.
