Obituary of Helen Crawford Evans

She was born November 19, 1940 in Douglas, GA to the late Hugh and Prince Crawford. Miss Helen, as she was affectinately known, was 1 of 14 children. She was a graduate of Howard High School and attended nursing classes at Brown Vocational, both here in Wilmington. She worked for Delaware Division Hospital and retired from the State's Delaware Division of health and Social Services after, 20 years of service. Miss Helen was a member of Mount Joy United Methodist Church. She truly enjoyed caring for her grandchilden and spending time with her sisters and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Derek Crawford, Cedric Crawfor and Vernon "Butchie" Evans; her daughter, Trina Evans; 5 loving sisters Hazel Gore, Jeraldine "Nellie" Cooper, Lydia Faulk, Joanne Crawford and Brenda Davis; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins along with numerous devoted friends.
