Obituary of Helen Crawford Evans

Helen was the daughter of the late Hugh and Prince Crawford. Miss Helen, as she was affectionately known, was one of fourteen children. She was a graduate of Howard High School and attended nursing classes at Brown Vocational, both here in Wilmington. She worked for Delaware Division Hospital and retired from the State's Delaware Division of Health and Social Services after twenty years of service. Miss Helen was a member of Mount Joy united Methodist Church. She truly enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her sisters and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memories, her three sons Derek Crawford, Cedric Crawford and Vernon "Butchie" Evans, her daughter Trina Evans; five loving sisters Hazel Gore, Jeraldine "Nellie" Cooper, Lydia Faulk, Joanne Crawford and Brenda Davis; thirteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins along with numerous devoted friends.
