Obituary of Rathie Amanda Carney

Rathie Amanda Carney was born on January 15, 1922 to Josephine Tyler and Charles Tyler in Newport News, Virginia. She departed this life on January 25, 2006 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. Rathie was the oldest of four children; Charles Tyler, the late Alfreda Tyler and Constance Bryant. Rathie attended Virginia public schools. Rathie relocated to Washington, D.C. where she met and married the late, Charles Pye, Sr. Rathie was later married to Willliam Carney. Rathie furthered her education in New Jersey where she began a career in nursing at Bergen Pines Hospital. She completed her nursing career working privately. During these nursing experiences Rathie touched many lives and made many friends who will all miss her dearly. Rathie is survived by one daughter, Gloria Marshall; two sons, Charles Pye, Jr and Shawn Turner, Sr.; one son-in-law, Charles Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Delores Turner one brother, Charles Tyler; one sister-in-law, Marge Tyler; one brother-in-law, Elmer Pye and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
