Obituary of Isaac Manson

Isaac Manson was born in Dinwiddie County, Virginia on April 11, 1924. He was the oldest of five children born to the late Margaret Manson. He passed away at Christiana Hospital on December 22, 2011. Isaac (King, his nickname) attended Dinwiddie Public Schools, and at age 17, joined the U. S. Navy. He was on active duty in World War II and the Korean War. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1953 and lived in New York, where he met Julia. Isaac married Julia Burris, and from this union came five children: Stella, Joy, Chuck, Tim and the late Janet. Isaac had such love for children that he opened his home and became a foster parent when they left New York, and settled in Delaware. He worked for Pettinaro Construction Company until military injuries forced him into disability. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 52 years, Julia, two daughters; Stella and Joy (Todd), two sons; Chuck and Tim (Diana), nine grandchildren; Kimberly, Richard, Shakilah, Sherima, Ranesha, Marcel, Julius, Naila and Danielle, brothers; Willie Manson (Anniemae) of Virginia Beach, VA and Charlie Manson (Hattie), sister, Annie Clanton (William) of Petersburg, VA, sisters-in-law; Anita Wilson of Salisbury, MD, and Stella Wilson of Wilmington, DE, brother-in-law and best friend, Stanford Burris (Yvette) of Smyrna, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, including friends.
