Obituary of Thelma Attrue Julia Lyght

Thelma Attrue Julia Lyght entered in the arms of Jesus, another glorious day in her life on March 10, 2018.  Thelma was born to the late Rev. William Lemuel Dewey Lyght, Sr. and Attrue Virginia Lyght in Kingston, Md.  

Thelma's early education began at Greenwood Elementary School, Princess Anne, Md, then Middle school at Douglas Jr. High School, Chester, Pa, then graduating from Chester High School, Chester, Pa.  She attended Morgan State University, Baltimore, Md, earning her Bachelors Degree in English and a minor in Music.  A Dean's list student she also studied Elementary Education at Delaware State University, Dover, De. 

Thelma was an elementary school teacher in Lakewood, NJ for several years and substituted in various Delaware school Districts.  She enjoyed tutoring youth in Math and English.  She was director of the Youth Summer Tutoring Camp at Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.  

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, 2 brothers, William Lemuel Dewey Lyght, Jr.,(Brenda), Bishop Ernest S. Lyght(Eleanor), sister and caretaker, Celestine G.S. Lyght; 4 Nephews, Trent Lyght(Yusura), Todd Lyght(Stephanie), Eric Lyght(Rose-Marie), Erwyn Lyght(Raina), 1 niece Cheryl LaMonica(Nicole), 6 great nieces, 2 great nephews and a hosts of cousins, extended family and friends.
